Day 0: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) – Transfer to Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from African Traces. After meeting your professional safari guide, enjoy a comfortable transfer to your hotel in Arusha.
Depending on your arrival time, relax at the hotel or explore the city at your leisure. In the evening, your guide will provide a detailed safari briefing, ensuring you are well prepared for your adventure.

Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

• Driving Time: Approximately 2.5 Hours
• Activities: Full-Day Game Drive
After breakfast, depart from Arusha at approximately 8:30 AM and travel to the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
Despite its relatively compact size, Lake Manyara is one of Tanzania's most diverse parks, featuring lush groundwater forests, open grasslands, acacia woodlands, hot springs, and the alkaline lake itself. This rich variety of habitats supports an impressive range of wildlife.
During your game drive, you may encounter tree-climbing lions, African elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, impalas, blue monkeys, olive baboons, warthogs, hippos, flamingos (seasonal), pelicans, and more than 400 bird species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Safari

• Activities: Crater Game Drive (Approximately 5 Hours)
After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before descending approximately 600 meters (2,000 feet) into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater.
Known as Africa's "Garden of Eden," the crater is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife within its 260-square-kilometer floor. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers one of the best opportunities in Africa to spot the Big Five in a single day.
Wildlife commonly seen includes lions, African elephants, black rhinoceroses, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, jackals, zebras, wildebeests, Thomson's and Grant's gazelles, elands, flamingos (seasonal), ostriches, and numerous bird species including crowned cranes, kori bustards, secretary birds, eagles, vultures, storks, and sacred ibises.
Enjoy a picnic lunch beside the famous Hippo Pool before continuing your afternoon game drive.
Later, ascend the crater walls and return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park – Return to Arusha

• Driving Time: Approximately 2 Hours to Tarangire | 2.5 Hours to Arusha

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania's finest wildlife destinations and a paradise for elephant lovers.
The park is famous for its enormous baobab trees, vast savannah landscapes, and the life-giving Tarangire River, which attracts large numbers of wildlife throughout the year.
Enjoy a morning and early afternoon game drive while searching for large elephant herds, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, oryx, elands, lesser kudus, warthogs, and hundreds of bird species.
After enjoying a picnic lunch in the park, continue your final game drive before beginning the journey back to Arusha.
