START FROM: Moshi or Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park In the early morning, we will pick you from your hotel
in Moshi or Arusha and drive you to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara comes from the Maasai word “ Emanyarara’’
which is a plant used for making fancies” around their kraals It is scientifically referred to as Euphorbia tirucalii’’
other older maasai argue that it comes from the word “Olmanyara’’ which means settlement. The park contain a large
variety of habitat such as the rift valley wall. The groundwater forest and acacia woodland the canopy of these types
of the vegetation contain shrubs and grasses which form a good habitat for baboons, monkeys elephants, hornbills etc.
The park is famous for tree climbing lions, which are occasionally seen along the branches of acacia trees. Various
reason have been given why lions in this park spend most of their time resting in the tree. Some of the many include:
To obtain the view.,
To catch the breeze.,
To avoid the terminating flies.,
To keep out of the way of the buffalo and elephant.
Lake Manyara is the alkaline lake it has only inlet without outlet. The park is perhaps best known for its flamingos,
pelicans and cormorants but it is also the home for hundred other species of birds; it is therefore a paradise for
ornithologists. Next to a great variety of birds, giraffes nibble at the fresh leaves while the various types of
antelopes common to the region browse for tasty shoots. After a picnic lunch, there will be more time for further
game and wildlife watching before it is time to return to Arusha or Moshi

For me the most important thing in the experience was the safety of my self and my team,
what i can say its that my guide was checking up on me every hour and at the beginning and
the end of every day we did a-lot of checks and test with a form which gave me a-lot of
confidence for my situation. see more
